Tamsin was born in Zimbabwe where she fell in love with horses and began riding at the age of 5. At 19 she traveled to the UK where she experienced a long term illness and was diagnosed with a chronic muscle and spinal disorder.
After being given a particularly difficult and powerful horse that seemed to defy everything she'd ever learned, Tamsin was forced to readjust her lifelong opinions.
Despite having been a gymnast and rider from a young age, she could no longer rely on being athletic and strong, so her journey in classical training began.
She started studying and regularly attending clinics of the modern classical master, Philippe Karl, where her love of a "higher equestrian education" blossomed.
As her journey progressed, she had the privilege of being taught by a variety of classical trainers and her passion for teaching developed.
Tamsin has now trained and qualified as an "ENLIGHTENED EQUITATION" instructor, and specialises in the riders' position and aids.
Tamsin has made it her mission to teach her pupils how to use more brain and less brawn. Riding with lightness is not only beneficial to both horse and rider, but has far superior results.
Her ongoing education with Nikki Stephens in the "SCHOOL OF LEGERETE”, and of broad spectrum classical riding and training, is constantly expanding and she is dedicated to helping both rider and horse to achieve true "EQUESTRIAN EQUILIBRIUM!"
Tamsin trained and qualified in Enlightened Equitation with the very successful classical instructor, Heather Moffett. Heathers' rider training program is uniquely simple and incredibly effective.
Tamsin is a "forever student" and currently a trainee instructor under the amazing Nikki Stephens, a qualified "School of Legerete" trainer.
As a close friend and pupil of the talented dressage instructor, trainer and judge, Tracy Vosloo (VirtualDressageCoach.com), Tamsin has "continued professional development" at her fingertips.
To my beautiful boy who taught me how much a horse will give if you simply know how to ask. He loved his work and he made me laugh every day. Thank you so much Nikki for the privilege of owning this special horse.
Thank you to ALL my wonderful instructors, who each individually, and with their many differences, have made me who I am. .Cherry Verwood, Tracy Vosloo, Dorothy Marks, Nikki Stephens, Heather Moffett, Jennie Jordan & Felicity Mann.
Despite the physical difficulties this little mare had to deal with, she was so honest and had a work ethic that was second to none. Thank you so much to Becky for trusting me with this beautiful horse, who I know taught us both so much.
